C5 logs "kernel Send assoc pkt"

#1

We’re seeing the following in our logs… it looks like the C5 is getting disassociated from the AP, with no apparent reason as to why. It’s on a non-DFS channel, spectrum is pretty much crystal clear. We’re seeing a consistent signal level of -53.6 dBm at PHY 780/780.

Please do let us all know what the issue is. Seems like an interesting issue that could help the rest of us out later on down the road.

Still waiting to hear back from Mimosa. I changed the channel the radio was on because we couldn’t have the customer bouncing up and down all day… it’s been up for 17hrs now, so so far, so good. Evidently there must be very random interference occurring every 3-4 hours. Seems odd that it would only randomly occur like that on a non-DFS channel.

#5

I spoke too soon. Even on the new channel, it still seems to occur intermittently.

#6

Weird, maybe some sort of SCADA system? (I know, it’s the cliche boogie man of the wireless world) or maybe just a bad antenna. Do keep us in the know when you find a solution, this one sounds interesting…

#7

This sounds like AGC is set too high! If it’s on auto, try changing it to manual and see if things improve.

Also just curious what you’re using: Is this an A5/C5 or A5c/C5c. What is the distance between AP and client radio?

#8

AGC is set to Auto. The C5 client, the only one on this A5c so far, is 600m away.

I just checked the logs on the AP again; I think these new disconnects were actually caused by radar hits. The messages on the C5 are the same regardless of what reason it gets disconnected, which is what confused me.
