Disable 2.4 GHz SSID on A5c?

#1

Is there a way to disable the 2.4 GHz SSID? I have looked everywhere, but am not seeing a way to disable it.

Hardware: A5c radio running 2.5.1 Firmware.

Thanks

Don’t think there is a way to disable it, kinda part of the reset procedure and all that management stuff.

But! You can set the TX Power to 0 under “Channel & Power” >> “TX Power” (Drop down menu). If you are not wanting people to connect to it you could also set a crazy long password to the 2.4 GHz SSID and if you were wanting a little bit of “security by obscurity” you could turn off the broadcast for the SSID (turning it into a “hidden” network)

Hi William,

Thank you for the reply. The items you suggested are exactly what we have done so far. The SSID always shows as “Enabled” , so we were just curious if it could be turned of for security purposes.

Ya probably not, but WPA2 is pretty good and Mimosa did the update for that weird security problem from last year, so you should be fine…
