Mimosa A5c - Frequency

#1

Hi,

I bought Mimosa A5c. I bought licenses for frequency 6100-6200 Mhz tho.
How can I enable this frequency? I have created a new network, then I have set Poland Licensed and generated unlock code.
I have done the unlock process and unlocked the device but nothing changed.

What should I do to enable 6100-6200 frequency?

At https://www.mimosa.co/ there is an information that Mimosa 5Ac can work at 4900-6200 from long time.

Hi Hussar,

The WiFi Interop mode only supports defined Wi-Fi channels. This is so that third-party clients can connect
http://ap.help.mimosa.co/ap-faq-supported-frequencies

The upcoming GPS-Sync (TDMA) firmware supports 5 MHz channelization, meaning that you can select channels in increments of 5 MHz from 4.9 to 6.2 GHz with licensed unlock codes where applicable.

We are also considering introducing 5 MHz channelization in CSMA, but this mode would not be compatible with standard 802.11 clients.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for your answer. When can I expect next firmware? In few weeks? Month? Two months?

Hi Hussar,

We expect that it will be a matter of weeks, not months. Beta tests are underway and doing well for far. The final release schedule depends on the test results during the beta period.

Hi Chris,

just a quick question related to this then: if i’m using C5 clients, are they able to connect in 4900-6200 even if GPS Sync is still not working?

Wifi Interop is for compatibility with other brands…what if i use the C5s?

Thank you!

Hi @Massimiliano2,

The selected MAC protocol on the A5 controls frequency selection, and the only protocol available at this time is WiFi Interop.

The WiFi Interop Mode is limited to defined Wi-Fi channels for compatibility with 802.11n and ac clients: http://ap.help.mimosa.co/ap-faq-supported-frequencies

The upcoming GPS-Sync (TDMA) protocol enables extended frequencies if your regulatory domain allows. With TDMA, center frequency can be changed in 5 MHz increments. We call this “5 MHz channelization”, but the channel width options are still 20/40/80 MHz. This protocol is not compatible with third-party clients (Mimosa C5 only).

Understood!

I’ll wait for the new firmware then…

Thank you for your reply!
