I use Mimosa c5c with RocketDish5G30 ubnt (PTP MODE
) But there are some thing wrong , there are no signal like I does not use any dish

Like you are not able to connect to the other end of the PTP or you don’t see anything on the channel and power page.

I have used other Ubiquiti dishes in the past and they seem to work pretty well.

Could you post a picture of your channel and power page?

im used and very good ,open channel 4600-6400

Hi, I have tried this Dish antenna with C5c long time ago
it won’t work, this rocket dish has AC Technology, and Mimosa dosen’t.
thats why it won’t work.

thats an unofficial firmware you are using.

Antennas don’t have any tech that makes one work for a radio better then another (except for the 4x4 or higher MU-MIMO antennas, but those are just a notation here) A 2 chain antenna will work for any 2 chain radio as long as it’s designed for the frequencies your radio is using…

If you look at the spec sheet for that antenna Page 1 says:

The RocketDish RD-5G31-AC is a Carrier Class 2x2 Bridge Dish Antenna that was designed to seamlessly integrate with RocketM radios

The Rocket M series radios, are all 802.11n, no AC tech there. Side, note: while Rocket M radios (like the Rocket M5) are 802.11n, the Mimosa C5c supports 802.11AC (At least I surmise this is so, the A5 has 802.11AC and I would guess the C5c would use AC to connect to it when the radio is in WiFi Interop mode… This is just an educated guess though, I would differ to someone else who could show me otherwise.)

Also, a significant portion of the “Spec Sheet” is dedicated to Ubiquiti’s TDMA protocol which is entirely in their radios (otherwise none of us could use Ubiquiti Radios with non-Ubiquiti antennas)

The RD-5G31-AC is just an antenna, if you had issues with it, then it wasn’t because of a protocol mismatch, more likely it was a bad alignment. (A 30 dB antenna is pretty difficult to align properly)

Hello, the ubiquiti antennas are designed to work only at 5-5.8Ghz. If you are going to use 4.8 / 4.9GHz I recommend that you get an antenna of that frequency for better performance.

We are very satisfied with combination C5c + UBNT Rocket Dish 5G30 even in outside band. :wink: Work excellent.

But, for long distances, we use modified antennas:

@mendoza todo depende de tu situación en particular y de la saturación/ruido que tengas en al zona, también de la configuración y la alineación. También del dinero que tengas para invertir en una buena antena. Las RocketDish RD‑5G30 se recomiendan aprox. para máximo 20/25Km en perfectas condiciones máximo 30Km, luego para superiores distancias RocketDish RD‑5G34 y para mejorar antenas de mayor calidad como por ejemplos las algcom de 30, 33 y 36dBi. Eso si, perfecta alineación y linea de vista completamente despejada. Cualquier otra duda brindamos soporte especializado, ponte en contacto con nosotros y lo vemos a mas detalle.

For this 35km link, we use parabolic dishes 170-205cm diameter with modified feed in focus of that antenna with very sharp angle of radiation. Feeds are made by precise calculation for frequency we want to use on some particular PTP link so there is not or there is so little noise and interference on that frequency. Feeds are not made for using on wide spectrum but only for some small frequency using, for example: 4850-5050MHz or 6050-6250MHz or any other frequency band we want to use after detailed inspection of that future link but not more than 200Mhz. Also, lowering power on these C5c’s are crucial fact we found for better performance. For exemple: if we put power 23-24dBm, we get signal strenght from -52 to -58 but bandwidth is too low, ping are high and so on If we lower power to, for exemple 14dBm to 20dBm, bandwidth and performace get maximized. Maybe paradoxal or not but the situation is just like that. I hope I helped you a little. :wink:
