Viable CBRS Equipment

#1

Does Mimosa have any plans for CBRS Equipment?
I feel that the CBRS band is a great opportunity, but the existing solutions are rather lacking.
LTE seems like it could have real potential, but it is still expensive and complex. A lot of people seem to like PMP450i, but I can’t get past the 3000 price tag per AP, for performance that is basically equivalent to wireless n. I might be missing something, so feel free to let me know.

Its kind of a wait and see thing for Mimosa. Jaime has been spending a lot of time in DC trying to get some of the 3.7 to 4.2GHz spectrum for WISPs to use.

Unfortunately I don’t think this is going to happen. The FCC is going to give WISPs 500MHz of spectrum in 6GHz. My thoughts here are that they are going to give us that spectrum, so it’ll distract us from the 3.7 to 4.2GHz spectrum.

A real bummer too, 3.7 sounded like a real dream.

If they go the 6 GHz route though, it is going to make a lot of people with licensed links in that spectrum nervous.
