Mimosa shutdown reason: too many retries to restart a daemon - cannot rescue portmon

I searched through the community and didn’t see anything posted about this.

Has anyone had an issue where the LAN link shows down, even when there was no reason to believe there is an issued with the cabling from the PoE to the router? All of that was manually inspected.

In the logs I see this:
mimosa shutdown reason: too many retries to restart a daemon - cannot rescue portmon

Manually rebooting and hard rebooting it didn’t fix the issue. What would cause this issue?

Sounds like a corrupted filesystem. I would take a swing at reinstalling the firmware you are running, but I would be suspicious of the device from here on out.

You might get in touch with Mimosa support and see if they want to take a look at the equipment…
